Create

Let's create a course! You will use a course to structure your assignments and standardize your Grader Than Workspace. Your students will enroll in this course and use it to access their Grader Than Workspace and assignments.

New Class

  1. Start by clicking the plus button:

    • From the Grader Than portal page, look to the right side of your screen and click the Create Icon Create Icon plus button.
    • A menu will pop up. Select Create a Class from the options.
  2. Name your class:

    • A window will appear where you can name your class. This could be anything that helps you organize your students, like the course name, class period, or any title that makes sense for your setup.
  3. Select your workspace configuration:

    • Choose the type of workspace configuration you’d like for your students. The workspace is your in-browser development environment with a pre-configured code editor. This means all the tools and settings your students need are ready to go, so they can start coding immediately.
    • If you don’t see the programming language you're looking for, feel free to reach out to us! Grader Than supports all programming languages, and we’re happy to help set up the right environment for you.
  4. Create your class:

    • Once you’ve named your class and selected the workspace configuration, press the Create button in the bottom right corner of the window.

New Class Instance

Creating a new class instance is preferable to creating a new class if the class already exists. With a course instance, you can collect data across different instances of the same class, allowing you to spot trends. You can create multiple course instances for each section or semester that you teach.

To create a new course instance, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Classes page:

    • Click the Courses Create Icon Create Icon button in the activity bar on the left side of the screen.
  2. Locate your class:

    • Find the card or row of the class for which you'd like to create a new instance.
  3. Access more options:

    • Click the More Options Create Icon Create Icon button to the right of the Open button for the course.
  4. Create the new instance:

    • In the menu that appears, click the Create New Instance button.
