My Class Page¶
Overview¶
The My Class page is where all the key details of your class are organized. At the top of the screen, you’ll find three main buttons:
- My Class: This section lets you view your class roster, access student workspaces, and edit class settings.
- Workspace: Here, you can open your personal workspace for the class and adjust workspace settings as needed.
- Feedback Assignments: This button takes you to a separate page where you can create, organize, and edit assignments for your class.
In the middle of the page, you’ll be able to view your class roster. At the bottom of the page, you’ll be able to edit the settings for your class.
Enroll Students in Your Class¶
To enroll your students in the class, scroll to the Enroll Students in Your Class section. You can either have your students scan the QR code or go to the provided link. Both options will take them to a page where they can sign up for a Grader Than account and enroll in your class. Students can also enroll by visiting the enrollment page and searching for your name or class name.
Contact us if your students have a different email domain than you
If your students have a different email domain than yours, please let us know. They won’t be able to access your class until their domain is added to your organization's account. For example, if your email ends with @mySchool.com
and your students' emails end with @mySchool.net
or @students.mySchool.com
. Reach out to us at contact us page, and we’ll set it up right away.
Your Students¶
In the middle of the screen is the Your Students section, where you can view the students enrolled in your class.
Press the Refresh button in the upper right corner to get the most up-to-date details on the students in your class.
To access a student's workspace, press the Open Workspace button to the right of the student’s name.
Class Information Section¶
Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and you’ll see a section where you can edit the following characteristics of the class settings:
Column Name | Description |
---|---|
Instance name | This helps differentiate between different sections of the same class over time (semester/years). It’s similar to creating an instance of a class in programming. For each semester you teach the class, you’ll have a different "Instance Name." You’ll keep the same class name but create a new instance for each semester. Learn more about creating a new class instance. You’ll likely want the instance name to reflect the semester and year you're teaching, like "Fall 2024" or "Spring 2024". |
Course Name | This is the name of your course. Changing it will affect how easily your course is searchable on the enrollment page. More details on course enrollment. |
Classification | This is the course's non-human readable segment. It often includes the Department Code and Course Number. |
Description | A brief description of your class that will be visible to students on their My Class page. This is a great place to provide an overview of the course, its objectives, and any key information your students should know. |
